Success Happy

Christians are the only ones with true happiness but genuinely believe they are born sinful?

I really want to understand this. I've seen many a Christian claim that only Christians have true happiness, yet these same people believe that they are born sinful, continue to live sinful lives, and genuinely deserve eternal torture in hell. This sounds like a miserable existence to me. Am I missing something? Explain to me how anyone can possibly be happy when they believe such horrible things about themselves?

  1. I would really like to know that myself!
  2. We are born "tainted" because Adam and Eve sinned. We will become sinners, seek refugee with God, and hope to go to heaven by believing in Christ our savior.
  3. great question. Mohammadlustprophet- what does this question have to do with Islam? How can people be so ignorant... People like you are the reason there are so many secular people today.
  4. Everyone deserves to go to Hell. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" However, true Christians, ones that have been born again and are called to repentence, they know the true happiness that cna only be felt when you realize that besides the fact that you are a sinful creature, you have a relationship with your creator.
  5. Because I'm on my way to heaven and I know that whatever bad choices I make that God will always forgive and forget. What on earth could cause me to not be happy knowing how loved I am?
  6. I was always miserable the 20 years I spent as a Christian. The happiest times in my life have been the last 3 years since I became an atheist.
  7. Only christians think that they have true happiness. Original sin is purely the idea of roman pagans that got into christianity. Jesus never taught original sin.
  8. Christians are not happy, or at least the ridiculous ones aren't. My grandmother is the same way. She claims that only true (not all) Christians are happy, but she herself is miserable, because she has taught herself into thinking that everyone she knows is going to Hell. It is a miserable existence.
  9. we were sinful we do not believe it is ok to continue in sin after being saved its wrong to think there is nothing wrong God reveals to us all we are sinful and need salvation by Jesus christ.
  10. We are born sinners, everyone is a sinner, everyone sins daily Swearing is a sin, when you look at a girl sexually thats a sin, using Gods name in vain is a sin, someone cuts you off when driving you say "YOU SON OF A ....." Thats a sin These daily things we consider sins, but we know we are forgiven from those sins be Jesus Christ God does not know a sin He does not hate God does not know a sinner He does not love Thats what we mean by sins, they don't have to be like those huge crimes and murders you see every day, those arn't the only things considered as sin
  11. I am muslim The real truth that you have to look for for now is who is God really and who is Jesus peace be upon him Watch this video, bring your Bible and let the Bible speak. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixPV5EKwL54 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkOrDGXP4Fs&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6X3pH-1IMM&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnpwGBaAs9Y&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNAw5QVWBhE&feature=related Let the Bible speak, what do you think?
  12. Happiness comes from having peace with god, once we accept god's forgiveness and love, thus helping to turn from sin that corrupts us.
  13. The belief that we are somehow born sinners is a Roman Catholic invention; consequently, there is no substantiation for this false teaching in the Scriptures at all. So this should clarify the matter for you.
  14. uh I grew up with Christian parents they aren't any happier than anyone else
  15. I'd think that even atheists could admit that all humans are flawed and do considerable wrong within their life times. We all know that we're not always good people. Christans just have the luxury of knowing that they're cosmically forgiven for those flaws, so it's easier to live with yourself. I don't think it's such a hard concept to understand.
  16. I am happy because I have obtained mercy. Do you know the parable of the prodigal son? I am the one who has been welcomed home. I was dead and now am alive again. I was lost and now am found. I have been invited in to the feast at my Father's table. I am happier than you would believe. I wish you likewise.
  17. Oh please. Christian life is so restricted they can't do sh*t. But they still do and I imagine they must feel some guilt about it. Or not. Either way, that ain't happiness.
  18. Sinfulness and happiness are not mutually exclusive. If they were, then only two people in the history of the earth would have ever been happy. We deserve condemnation to hell, but we know that Christ has redeemed us and has saved us from this condemnation. If that doesn't make a person happy, nothing will ! .
  19. I think it stems from knowing that no matter how imperfect their life may be, they will be always be accepted by God. Unfortunately, some Christians think it is a contest and they try to ssee how sinful they can be before it all comes tumbling down!
  20. They also seem to need a lot of "healing". Everyone else seems to be fine.
  21. Titus 1: 10For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: 11Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake. 12One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, the Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. 13This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith; 14Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. 15Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. 16They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. There are people claiming to be "christians" yet they are doing bad, here in the Philippines there are a lot them . you cannot consider them true. why?? The word Christain is derived for the name of Christ. it means, a disciple of Christ. If your a disciple, you need to follow the commandment of Christ. and one them those is... Galatians 6:10: 10As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. we need to do good every opportunity we have! they are happy not because they are with GOD, but because there is someone behind their happiness. John 8:44: 44Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. their are doing their lust. and because they love their lust, they will be happy.
  22. The years I spent as a Christian were the most miserable ones of my life. It was just the perspective that I was being taught in church was making me feel that way.
  23. Your a sinner to.Until you can see that you can never be saved.
  24. yes its true, we are all sinners but yet we have happiness, we feel content. I am a christian, and only 13 yrs old i i have found true happiness. i know that souds weird but most christians are truly happy. just knowing that there is a god out there who loves us, even when we sin. Christ died for us, for our sins. Although we continually to sin daily, our sins are forgiven because of Jesus. our past and future sins are taken care of.. that doesnt mean we can go out and sin on purpouse getting drunk and commiting adultery, saying "oh well i m taken care of" cuz that is not how it works. we jsut contunue to stay faithfull to God. If you do become a christian things arnt going to be all sweet and roses. there will be tough times, the enemy (satan) will come after us. he doesnt want to strike the one that is already down, he wants to strike the one that is living there life out for god. Even though all this happens we still are happy praising a rightious God. everyone was born in sin, lives in sin, and will die in sin.. when i mean sin i mean things of this world. like greed, lust, and temptations. be blessed in the lord
  25. They are saved from the wrath of God because they believe and accept Yeshua (Jesus) as thier salvation from GOD's wrath which will come on the rest that choose not to accept Yeshua's dying Passion to save humanities life from sinfulness. We are never sinless; but we may sin less, now that we become Christ-like. That's a hard role to follow. That is why we need to keep comparing ourselves to Him, instead of each other because we will never arrive to perfection as Him. If we keep comparing ourselves to each other, we may feel that we've arrived to perfection. Please, do not fool yourself. Amen?
  26. The sin we had were the heritage from Adam and Eve, so our existence on earth were ever meant to erased all of the sin till we are clear and granted to be back to heaven where we belong. Eternal torture was meant for human to realize that if they could not fulfill the God's will on earth will deserve hell after they die but that's a methapors words only while actually God loves human more than words can say..
  27. yes we are totaly forgiven,do we still sin yes are we to ask for forgivenss that would not be faith, that would be presumition, when we sin and we do but they have been taken away faith says thank you jesus for taking that one away, the grace of god is what teaches us to say no to unrightiousness.the unbeliever is still under the law and we all know what the law says,we are to inter the saboth rest so no more alter calls confession both, jesus is dealing with us on new life,no punishment, only disaplain is for the game ahead, the saboth rest is everday we rest in his finished work at the cross by faith daily!
  28. I think if you look at the majority of Christians in mainstream religions, they are less prone to this type of schizophrenic energy. It is generally the fundamentalists that are inclined that way. Must be all that repression or something.....
  29. Can I just give you my personal belief on this (and then step back and watch the thumbs down go sky high) *smile* I don't believe people go to hell. In some translations of the Bible the word Hell is simply Grave, World of the dead (etc) Hebrew she'ohl and Greek hai'des refer not to a place of torment (that has been translated as Hell in many Bibles) but to a place of burial (ie, common grave) However, the word ge'en-na is used to symbolise destruction. Because we are the descendants of Adam, we are far from perfection which is why Jesus died for us, so we could attain perfection in a future Paradise. This is not a gift given lightly though, we need to do the will of Jehovah and make the announcing of his Kingdom and the blessings we earn from that, the main aspect of our lives. Despite being mere dust and being sinful, the fact that we are trying to do the right thing, and not giving in to the easy way out (doing what the masses do), makes Jehovah happy. He doesn't punish those who honestly try. The Bible assures us that he knows we are imperfect and doesn't expect us to attain to perfection right now. He does expect obedience though, as any Father would. When we do things Jehovah's way we are able to live a life that is full and free of guilt. We also have a joyous future to look forward to. THIS makes a TRULY happy Christian!
  30. I'm a Christian(Catholic) and I won't argue with that LOL Doesn't it sound horrible? Yes, it seems we were born with the original sin. However, when a baby dies(truly awful), he's certainly an angel. I do believe in God with all my heart and my soul. I was born a Catholic and still am by choice. I don't agree with everything they do or say but they're very forgiving and a lot more cool(I don't know what is the term today) than most people, who've never been around Catholic Churches and events in the last 40 years, think. Some will send me to hell for saying this but although I have the utmost respect for the Pope, I never thought they were infallible(okay, I thought something would fall on my head but I'm still here). I'm only 47 so I haven't been around when Priests preached about hell during Vatican I. Fortunately for me, I was born just on time for Vatican II. So hell doesn't have fire anymore and if you don't believe, they say that you will be eternelly separated from God. I like to think that everybody will have to be purified and won't have a free ticket to eternal life just by believing(especially just going to Church and not following what we're taught). That way, everybody would have a second chance for eternal life. wouldn't it be better? My views are somewhat different and to those who openly told me I'm going to hell(very insane people, they're everywhere you know and you have some in your groups too, whether you believe or not) I smile at those people and say that only God knows and we might be(I'm sure we will) be surprised at whom will be in heaven first and whom will have to wait their turn while getting purified. I'd like to add that more and more people think the way I do. I don't go to Church for the Priest, the Pope or anybody else and I certainly don't go to show off my clothes. I go there to please God and since he's my friend, I don't worry about hell, torments and all those things. When I leave I have a big smile on my face and am ready to confront my week no matter what happens. Maybe I should add that my mother, who was born in 1922, shared my views(most of the time). One Saturday evening, we went to Church and the Priest said that we always needed to be ready since we didn't know when would be our turn. When we were on our way out my mother said,"That was kind of depressing but I guess he has to say it al least once a year." On Monday my mother started to be tired, on Tuesday she was so sick that I had to take her to the emergency. On Friday morning she passed away. That sermon was the last one my mother heard and she was ready, it goes to show that death can come at anytime. Fear is no good, it paralyses you. It's easier to have a good life when you feel loved and that's what God is, He is Love.
  31. Odd. I have never heard any Judeo-Christian say that ONLY they have true happiness. Probably because that would be an arrogant and ignorant thing to say. Who could ever determine what 'true' happiness is, especially for any other person? Very curious. Perhaps when a Judeo-Christian has in the past told you that, he or she must have meant that he or she thinks the religion is good and beneficial somehow. That would at least have some actual meaning. Otherwise, perhaps it means "banana".
