In life is it better to be street smart or book smart?

I am a junior in high school not the smartest kid alive but obviously not an idiot i see that things in school come easier to some kids more than others. I want to be a successful businessman but being that im not going to go to such a great college scares me. The fact that some students are in AP's and honors and receive A+ while im in all regular classes and get B's I am extremely street smart and i want to know if being book smart makes such a big difference in the working environment PLEASE HAVE AN EXPLANATION

  1. Street. But dont give up on the books dude
  2. You don't even get into the working environment without being book smart.
  3. Its always nice to be smart in school, not the smartest they always act prepy. Street smart is a survival tech. not necessarily talking about work related issues. With your grades you shouldnt have any problems either just because your not A+ dont cut yourself short by no means
  4. totally got to have common sense street smarts, have you ever met someone home schooled, totally social backwards. Street
  5. Street smart can be disguise..book smart is real..
  6. Use what you've got to survive. When you get a bit older and into the swing of real life you will realize that you really don't have much of a choice to do otherwise.
  7. Both are important for life and are necessary for giving good impression to people. With out reading books and having proper knowledge ,one can not continue to be street smart.
  8. Whose life? Yours or mine? That is something each individual has to determine for themselves based on their personal needs and goals. No explanation needed, if that isn't simple enough for you, more words wouldn't help you....complete your homework assignement.
  9. Thought about this one too during my school days but never much indulge on it. You're not the smartest and not the dumbest kid in your school. So average high school kid. Well you can be a businessman why not. Even the dumbest kid became a successful businessman, do you ever encountered one yet? I did, and continuously see these people doing business, cannot even add or multiply a simple numbers yet a store manager. So you are asking does it takes to be a street smart or book smart to make it in this world. I should say BOTH, be a street smart and book smart at the same time. You may asked me why. Good I thought you never ask. Being book smart makes you distinguished from those who never entered school or those who cannot write their name in the paper, yes! You got the ability to be literate enough to know the difference between a noun and a verb. These separate the moron from the wise. And being street smart you know the inline and pipeline in and out of the streets. You know where to find the 24th street to the 12th street and the people who you think will help you achieve something in life, because you know where they live. You got both arsenal of defense and offense in dealing with life you want to live. Well you can be anybody you want why only a businessman. When you can be an architect or an engineer. DO NOT CONFINE yourself being a businessman ONLY because you believe you are only B's. One of the richest guy we know today, Mr. Bill Gates of microsoft never finished his college years yet he is one of the billioners today. It is what lies within you that matters most not much of what you know or where you been. Anybody can be somebody as long as he believe in himself or herself. If you do not believe in yourself how much more other people will believe in you, huh?!
