With the success of the show 'The Biggest Loser', what does that do to the term 'BBW' ( big beautiful woman).?
There are 'big beautiful women', however now the term has become an excuse for not dieting and exercising. Just my opinion.

- i has no effect in anyway.
- I don't think BBW is used as an excuse. What is with all the #39's?
- i think it's overused most of the "BBW's" are ugly as hell and how is it an excuse for not exercising? lol
- opinions are like buttholes everyone has one and they all stink. not everyone who is a BBW is lazy and not all BBW's are unhappy with their weight. it is all personal preference. i have known BBW's who were simply beautiful and exquisitely stylish. fact not opinion
- It is an excuse and women say it because they want to feel better about themselves. People need to stop being lazy, theres a reason other countries don't have fat cows like in America.
- There may be big beautiful women who are happy the way they are, but that you're right, it should never be an excuse not to exercise. If someone is overweight, they should take the initiative to get healthier, for themselves and also for their friends and family. The Biggest Loser's success should go to show that ANYONE can get healthy and adopt a healthier lifestyle. You may not be the biggest loser, but you will certainly get a hold on your health and create a better life.
- STOP GENERALIZING. Not ALL women would use that term as an excuse not to get healthy. Getting on TBL and losing all that weight certainly does help save peoples' lives, but it benefits some more than others. At a seminar he gave, Bob Harper told the audience a shocking statistic - that HALF of all the contestants on the show put every bit of their weight back on after the show is over! Pretty healthy...NOT! I don't think that women should try for anything more than what is healthy for them - what is proper in terms of being height and weight proportionate. Because for every one of the women who DO use the "BBW" term as an excuse, on the other end of the spectrum you have the "lollipop heads" like the Olsen Twins and ridiculously thin Rachel Zoe, having a breadstick and water for dinner and calling it good. That is equally preposterous...and courting a death-wish.
- no change-BBWs are proud of themselves the way they are. (you'd be surprised how many men are BBW admirers.....much confidence in looks as well as mind and heart makes one beautiful). Unlike anorexic wanna bes who never feel adequate. and guess what? all overweight ppl are not health risks.
- I agree with the one say to stop generalizing. Just because someone is a BBW does not mean they have an unhealthy diet and do not exercise. Use your comment with other examples. Take a look at Hollywood. Does the fact that Hollywood calls a woman who is severely underweight beautiful give them an excuse to starve themselves to death? Does the fact that Hollywood calls people who tan give them an excuse to keep doing it so that they develop melanoma, which, by the way, has skyrocketed in people under 20 in the last decade? Does the fact that Hollywood refuses to allow people to age gracefully give them an excuse to subject themselves to all sorts of potentially dangerous surgeries, often making themselves look ridiculous in the process? (such as Priscilla Presley, Joan Rivers, Wayne Newton, Kenny Rogers, the list is potentially endless.) I am a large woman, but with my normal blood pressure, normal blood sugar, not smoking, very minimal alcohol use (maybe 2 drinks in 2 months), and healthy diet, I am in better health than a 95 pound woman who smokes, drinks too much and tans herself into a different racial category.
