What does it take to become a successful actor?

I think that after college, I want to pursue acting. Have you tried it? What does it take to become successful? Is it worth it?

  1. big penis
  2. It is worth it and act as if nobody is watching you. Be goofy when it comes to being dramatic. do everything you can that involves acting and performing. i am guessing you mean on screen/broadway acting. you will need/want to take as many acting and inprov classes as you can to build your resume and get some head shots done. you will need to get them done professionally. Directors can tell. There are usually open auditions for the whole county plus to view so you may want to look into that. it is a great opportunity to get yourself out there. get to know as many people as you can. the way the kind of open auditions i am talking about work is that everyone auditioning will go up one by one and do one or two monologues and sometimes a piece of a song (for the singers of course) there will be a lot of directors in the audience and if they are interested in you they will email or call you for a part or to come audition for them for a play of theirs. after you get some expirience and have made some what of a resume, start sending your resume and headshots to some local agencies. along with that you can call the agencies and make an appointment to meet with them and see if they are interested in signing you. if you do not live in a big town where lots of opertunitys to act or be on screen are you will either need to be aware that you will need to go to those places or move there. after you get signed with an agency you will need to take just about every job you can. they have a lot of clients and they wont come up with a ton of jobs for you. you will want to be signed with more than one agency if you can. you do want a large and impressive resume so you might want to sign with an agency thats sole purpous is to book extras. they usually pay small amounts but it is enough and worth it for your resume. usually about $150 to $300 a job but it doesnt require a ton of time or experience. remember to be outgoing, happy to be there, ready and willing to do what they want, and always follow intructions. good luck :)
