Republicans what candidate do you think would have been best?
equipped to handle this economic crisis? I'm a republican who voted for obama. I felt that compared to Mccain, Obama was the better and smarter candidate with regards to economics...plus when mccain added Palin, I couldn't support that ticket. I would have voted for Romney if he won the nomination. A very successful business man i would think he would have been great to handle this crisis. who do you think? Romney, Paul, Guiliani, Huck, etc?

- I agree, Romney would have been a great choice. Unfortunately if he had won the nomination the far left press would have attacked his religion unmercilessly.
- Well you got what you voted for, now live with it for the next few years. Enjoy, BTW, NO Republican would have voted for Hussein. Nice try though.
- Definitely Ron Paul. Second choice would have been Mitt Romney.
- Romney probably but I also felt McCain was a better choice to address the economy than Obama. I really don't think Obama has a clue about economic issues and his handlers are way too far left..
- Huckabee
- Lurch is wrong. It's the Christian Right that had the biggest problem with Romney's religion. The left may think it's silly, but the far Right thinks it's satanic.
- "I'm a republican who voted for obama" You may have voted for Obama, but you're not a Republican. "...plus when mccain added Palin, I couldn't support that ticket." Baloney. I cant keep track of the number of phonies who have said that. I caught one Yahoo poster claiming that she was supporting McCain up to the point where McCain named Palin as his VP. It was then, she claimed, that she changed sides and went for Obama. I looked up her posting history and found that she had declared her support and intention to vote for Obama MONTHS before McCain named Palin as his running mate.
- Romney Guiliani
- Romney actually understands how the economy works and what to do so long term job growth would occur...
- Romney for sure - Huckabee second but McCain would have been better than Barry without doubt - though they are very similar and McCain woudl not have been to much better but still better and if Palin was running for Pres I would put her in 3rd place she has show great economic wisdom thus far
- Romney, because unlike our current president, he actually understand something about how the economy works from an economic perspective. Obama's economic advisers seem more inclined to get a social and/or political return from their economic policies - you know, in the name of "social justice"
- Romney/Huckabee '12. The good ol' Mormon/Baptist. This must be fake because no conservative would vote for Obama over McCain, they both are horrible. But Obama is worst.
