How well do you think the Texas Rangers will do in the 2009 season?
With all these off-season moves, it's hard not to get excited. The Rangers were recently ranked the number one farm system in the game. Which might not matter that much, but they tend to call up a lot of successful young guys. Also, the fact that they have a new pitching coach and are possibly gonna sign Ben Sheets, how well do you believe they will do in 2009?

- Ben Sheets is a wash-up. Outside looking in. Not gonna make the playoffs this year. Close but no cigar.
- Sheets would give us a true ace...if they let Nolan Ryan do his job, I see vast improvement in the pitching staff and bullpen...and with that offense, a middle-of-the-pack rotation may get us to the playoffs!
- off-season moves, what are they? You really didn't do anything... I liked the Rangers last year to be a surpise and still do this year. I don't think they win the division, but I do think they continue to take the right steps in the right direction. They've got a great future thats for sure.
- Sheets is a hometown native and could be the spark the club needs, even with a right-handed pitcher "disfriendly" park. I hope our Rangers can turn it around this season. We have built from the inside after blowing some trades like Soriano for Wilkerson and Chris Young (pitcher) for Akinori Otsuka. But they look good this season, but young. They have a lot of hope, especially since the Angels lost Tex and K-Rod and make it known they won't sign Manny. I think if healthy and getting somewhat solid pitching and the hopeful usual lineup production, they can really contend. 1. keep an eye on 1B/3B Chris Davis 2. new Uni's!! - - - - - http://texas.rangers.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090123&content_id=3766594&vkey=news_tex&fext=.jsp&c_id=tex
- Better than the past several years, but then again, who knows? They have a chance
- I think they can compete for the division, but will come up short this year. A couple years and they could be up there... They were a lot of fun to watch last year. I would like to see them do well.
- It's too soon to tell. As it stands right now, the Angels are too established to be knocked off in the West, but the Rangers could make a push if their rotation proves capable. That's really the key though. With powerhouses in the AL East, there's no hope of winning the wild card, so they'd better wrap up the division if they want in the playoffs.
- 3rd in the west obviously the angels will win the west
- They will score runs but give up many more.
- I'd like to see them win, but they need their pitching to be more consistent. Brandon Mccarthy is a dissapointment. He once had a ton of promise. They've traded away Edwin Volquez and John Danks the past two offseasons. They have alot of great hitters, it's sad that they're pitching is inconsistent so much. In order to make the playoffs, they would alot of teams to struggle, including the Angels. I don't know if they'll make it this year, but I'd keep my fingers crossed.
