Does being hospitable determine how successful your business can be?

- Absolutely. I will give you an example. I live in a mid sized city. There is this one specialty shop where I always go. She does a good business. There are half a dozen shops in town that sell the same things she does and they are open basically the same hours. Hers is a small store so she does not even have as much as some bigger ones. For several years in a row now she has been voted top in her type of store. Only thing she does different to the other stores is be hospitable and make everyone feel welcome, and take the time to talk.
- Generally yes. It really depends on the type of business though. An example: I went in to Five Guys Burger and Fries today with my grandparents and the girl at the counter asked me if this was my first time. I said no but I told her my grandparents hadn't ever been there. So she yells "We've got first timers!" and the manager appears. He takes our order then when I didn't order anything he gave me a free drink for introducing 2 new people to their restaurant. Will I go back? Yep in a second.
