Successful Real Estate Agents... When starting, how did you generate business?

What are some creative tips, marketing plans, etc? Obvioulsy, word of mouth/ referrals... but any other ideas that worked for you

Public Comments

1. advertising, words of mouth, membership in church, recreation clubs, associations, charity events, etc
2. host open houses for others, phone phone phone. direct mail is way too slow to generate leads.
3. You hook up with a successful agency and do all the scut work and listen and learn learn learn.
