  1. When you combine the best players from around the global into a round-robin tournament, you have the perfect product to sell to cricket lover from any country!! The IPL has a unqiue time slot in Australia, which doesn't clash with the local AFL or NRL football code matches, which avoids any diluting of the sporting audience. It would be interesting to see the Australian viewing figures for the 2nd tournament (Sth Africa), as this article refers to the 1st series.
  2. The reason for the apparent success (if you call an average of 360 000 viewers a success) is that many of the big name Aussie players are in the tournament. A couple of Aussies probably played in the Night Riders Deccan Chargers so a couple of people watched it. 360 000 isn't a huge success though, considering the AFL grand final peaked at 3.6 million viewers, and shows such as Dancing with the Stars and other rubbish regularly averages near 2 million viewers. I guess the IPL is interesting in some ways, given there are lots of Aussies playing, but i'd like to know what the viewer numbers were for the second week...
  3. It wasn't. The ratings were poor.
  4. are you kidding me? it's not even televised here, people dont really give a rat shit about IPL... ... and by the way next time you post a link make sure it's a current one not an outdated year ago like the one you posted.
  5. Somany players are from aussies and huge money involved in it thats all
  6. Apparently the cheerleadears. Nothin's more fun than watchin a bunch of dumb yankee gals dancin to bollywood.
  7. Haha..IPL hit in Australia?Puhleez...Good joke and plz stop impersonating people..It's better to be your original self!
  8. Whoever wrote that article had been out in the sun too long, lol. IPL is looked down on by most Aussies as a bad thing for cricket in general. And who is this Gilbert Arnold? I have never heard of him & he has nothing to do with CA TMK. No doubt he is someone trying to make a fast buck out of mickey mouse cricket before it dies out,as it will.
  9. Mate you would never even hear IPL mentioned in Australian media, you have to look on internet to get the score
  10. Indian Premier What? Oh, that's right, the hit and giggle tournament. Sorry dude, but nobody outside of India cares about the IPL.
