Would you be happy to get a birthday card one week late?

She used to be my best friend, but I don't see her nor talk to her often anymore since we went to different universities. I bought her a birthday card, but I didn't call her or anything for her birthday because I was busy on that day and I forgot. It's been a week, and the card has become a guilty afterthought. Should I still send it? How would you feel if you were expecting a particular friend to call on your bday, but they didn't, and you got a card a week later from them in the mail when you're back in your routine?

1. I would be a little upset but if you explain yourself then I'd be okay with it. Just make sure to tell her what was up and she'll be okay with it.
2. Say it in the card and mail it!!!!
3. I'd be happy. Some people are too persnickity and wouldn't be, but most normal people know the world doesn't revolve around them and people are really busy nowadays. As a matter of fact... I forgot my bff's birthday last week! I kept thinking, what important date am I forgetting?? LOL. Send it!!
