What has made your business successful?
I currently work for as a computer technician. We recently moved to a new location and the work flow is not efficient. Sometimes I dont even get to work on a computer for 2 hours because Im dealing with customers. We are currently 2 weeks out on repairs. Does anyone have any advice or ideas on how to improve work flow. I would like to pass on suggestions to my manager. Any advice would be great. Tips on how to organize work flow, increase profitability, and make sure then techs work on computers and not spend hours doing paper work.

- The question is hard without more info, but have you thought of having one person take in the computers and write up the work orders, and other technicians work out of sight so they are not disturbed? I have taken my computer's in for service before, and I hate standing in line for 30 min. listening to the customer who is picking up their computer, asking 300 computer related questions to the only Tec working the front. I understand, they finally have a computer guru in front of them and they have lots of questions and they are hoping for free answers, but it is a very slow process, and I doubt that tec. ever gets to actually work on computers. You could also put a limit on how long the tec's can spend on each customer. Let the customer know that there is a line and you have to go, Maybe put up a polite sign that says that. Or you could limit the hours you take in computers, so you have some undisturbed hours to actually work.
