Business Aspect Of Wrestling-What's you opinion?

"Wrestling is a business you got to do what you have to do" That made me think how even how much I love this "business" wrestling is like what I said-a business. People complain "Why is Cena on the top he's boring??" or "Batista sucks why is he even wrestling??" then people agree but the real answer is because the money comes in with the sold merchandise. But then people here complain about how WWE sucks with this PG thing but it's because of the business aspect of wrestling. Wrestlers comes in at wrestling for the love of the sport but wo really makes it to the top is if you have the body and the charisma. All you need is a great magazine cover and even if a lot of wrestlers might outwrestle if they don't have that good look you will not succeed. But in the other hand promotions work in wrestling other than the financial stuff. Where talents are more important than wrestling. If you work hard you'll recieve good results. But those promotions does have financial problems and those promotions never really made it big because they don't focus much on the business aspect of wrestling. But their product are great and real wrestling fans buy their product. So is the business aspect of wrestling affecting wrestling as a sport?? Will you rather have a big and successful wrestling promotion with a big following but has a stupid product or will you have a small promotion but has a passionate following. WQ-Kurt Angle or Hulk Hoganwho made a bigger impact in their respective promotions(Angle for TNA and Hogan for WCW) WQ2-Best celebritiy to come to WWE history?? Star if you like

  1. Yawn
  2. Yes im gonna ask my mom to buy the cena spin belt
  3. You're right. See, we're internet fans. We honestly don't count, compared to the casual WWE fans who most likely dont go on the internet and for them, kayfabe is still alive. THAT is who WWE focuses on today.....the people who support their product and buy the merchandise and PPV's. As long as Cenas merch keeps selling off the shelves at a high pace...and as long as Batista stays over with the WWE loyal crowds, despite what we on the internet say, they will continue to get pushed untill everything cools down. I'm man enough to admit I'm a pisser and moaner when it comes to some aspects in wrestling, because Im very passionate about the route its taken and the fact that I witnessed much better days, and Im sure alot of people would agree with me. Its sad but true. I'm an original ECW fan...I'd personally like a smaller promotion with a cult-like following. ECW was full of passion, from the performers to the fans. There will NEVER be anything like it again, with only ROH coming only HALF close. BQ: Hulk Hogan for WCW without a doubt BQ2: For me, it was Mortin Downy Jr. when he got punked out by Roddy Piper
  4. Great question, wish i could give it more than one star I really do see your point, and I have that this for a while now that WWE is only doing what is good for WWE. It is a business and like most businesses they want their customers to be happy but would much rather have 10 new customers than 3 loyal ones. I understand what they are doing, the economy is tough right now and they want to make sure they can still thrive as a business, if that means 10-15 years of family and kid entertainment then so be it. I would much rather have WWE have less blood and gore and more "kiddy stuff" than WWE going under. WQ: Hulk Hogan by far, Angle increased the ratings little bit but Hogan made an entire era aware of wrestling, made thousands upon thousands of people watch it and made WWE what it is today, succesfull. WQ2: I really don't want to credit and celebrity appearance but Mike Tyson if he counts, most celebrity appearances consist of them winning "shockingly" and then leaving after a boring match.
  5. If you could turn back the clock, it would have been a great question to ask the territorial promoters who Vince put out of business. The dynamics of the marketplace changed and most were still operating like it was 1972. Pro wrestling has always been about "business;" any form of entertainment must change with the times or risk becoming irrelevant. * Hogan - WCW - it was a masterful stroke when he made the heel turn * Mike Tyson - his "ref" role in the Austin victory helped usher in the Attitude Era
