Do you work from home in the UK to spend more time with your young children? What job do you do?
I'm looking for other options, I'm currently a teacher but it has such long hours including weekends and evenings I can't bare to be away from my daughter so much. I'm looking for a change for a better balance in life. Thanks for any help or ideas.

- I'm in the U.S. but I proofread for court reporters. They send me their depositions through e-mail and I print them out, proofread them, and send them back an errata sheet with my suggested corrections. The pay isn't awesome but I'm home with my kids.
- I do work from home and im in the UK i have 4 children 2 of them babies i worked as a IT consultant but the hours were far to long my job dictated that i worked full time there was no option for part time due to the nature of my job I breed angel fish and Supply aquatic shops only here in the UK but i was doing this whilst working as well I made a good amount of money from this but there are so many options open to you working from home your a teacher don't envy you Lol but have you thought of doing private tuition instead having children come to your home and teaching them My friends son has a maths tutor twice a week they charge my friend £30 for every 30 Min's but she says its worth it just an idea you can still do the job you like and stay at home and have more time for your daughter.

- I did until my kids went to school full time. I'm a computer programmer. As a teacher, maybe home tutoring would be an option?Anything outside teaching is going to depend on what you are a teacher of. I've no idea why an IT consultant would think they have to work full time. I've been a part time IT consultant (it's a posh name for programming) for 13 years.
- I'm a teacher too, although I've not returned to work. For extra cash I mark the AQA GCSE papers in June, so that's a possibility. If you're a primary teacher you can apply to mark SATs. Also some personal tutoring is a good option. Or even supply teaching- no planning and preparation, and no marking! Although in all honesty when I return to work I'm very tempted to just sit on a checkout all day- I don't want a job where I work 7.30-4.30 in classroom then have a bunch of Year 10 Frankenstein essays to mark when I get home!
- I was doing hard work of finding home based/ online jobs. Luckily I found this website: http://www.wah-opportunities.biz They gave me list of top companies. I clicked and find many jobs. Did one job and received my pay yesterday. Best place for home based jobs.
