when someone wishes you happy birthday, do you need to reply?

its my birthday and ppl are saying happy birthday on facebook, should i reply with thank you to all of them or just leave it? thanks

1. If they've taken the trouble, is it really too much effort to enter a quick "thank you!" ? Happy birthday, by the way!
2. Change your status " Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes" or something like that!
