I am currently only receiving $80.77 every 2 weeks for child support. They told me when we first went in that because he is a student (community college) that he could make $100 an hour and still only have to pay the bare minimum. At that time I paid HIS MOM $75 every 2 weeks to watch my princess while I worked m-f. He was not paying a dime in child support at the time. I (trying to keep the peace) denied my right to back child support. The weekend after the court and the agreed $80.77 per 2 weeks he gave me 2 days to find child care because his mom was having knee surgery. (It takes more than 2 days to schedule a surgery so I know they knew about the surgery for a while) I had to take off a week from work to keep her and research local facilities. I found an awesome place, but I pay $140 per week.... My question is: Is this an adequate reason to have my child support reviewed? Have you had this experience or something similar. I make more $$ than him, I just feel that he needs to actually contribute to his daughter's education & care. I will pay over $7000 in child care this year alone (& paid close to $7000 last year) and he is only paying $2100 a year.... Not even half... Does anyone know the law here in Texas? Is anyone familiar with the system?? I am only 21, but I am successful, do not live on the "system", a newly wed, and proud mommy of my beautiful 3yr old princess... I just need help!
