Success Happy

If you never had to pay taxes at all but everything you own goes to the government when you die is it fair?

You keep every dime you earn during your life the only catch is when you die it all goes to the government. I guess it would be fair if you could have a joint estate with your spouse but your children are on their own. Under this system the only way to be successful would be to work hard no one would just have it handed to them, or have an advantage over anyone else.

  1. Of course not. Why do you think the government is entitle to the property of it's citizens? Envy is an ugly trait.
  2. Nice try. Not a chance. My beneficiaries can pay the taxes on the inheritance and keep the rest, thank you very much.
  3. ok so the situation is getting really bad, people are comming up with weird ideas, i have an idea: why doesnt the usa stop wasting money fighting isreals wars and spend money on their own people? - i know it sounds so peaceful and nice -it will never happen
  4. I think the government would be promoting your death.
  5. I OPPOSE the inheritance tax....a spoiled daughter gotta have somethin to pawn off for the nose candy..
  6. No not a idea I care for.
  7. Why don't we all just give everything to the government now, and let them redistribute it as they see fit.
  8. We already have inheritance taxes. Those taxes, by the way, are the biggest threat to family farms, as younger generations struggle to afford the taxes in order to keep the farm in the family. Of course, if you want to people to succeed through hard work, then the government should end social programs such as welfare and food stamps. As you say, "no one would just have it handed to them."
  9. We shouldn't have to pay any where near the amount of taxes we now pay, and after I die, the government has no right to anything I worked for. It should be mine to give to whomever I want.
