My cousin went for an interview the other day for a company that specializes in door to door marketing (for charity organizations) and was invited back to their office again yesterday for an orientation. Apparently the manager made it seem like the perfect job and was funny and humerous in nature (probably to get people smiling and laughing as such) and yeah, my cuz was basically asked when he could start and he said right away. So when he got home he called me up in tears because he didn't know if he'd done the right thing or not by taking the job. Apparently he would be only earning money based on successful marketing (not sales, more customer service or something along those lines) and yeah, the manager told everyone that in the first couple of weeks they would only be getting 2 successful marketing things per day or week to start off with. This doesn't seem fair in my opinion. It seems to me like slave laibor. You're slogging your guts out trying to make money and you'd be lucky to make any within a week and what you do make isn't exactly promising either, seeing as it's only what the customers want to give you for the charity you're promoting at the time. I personally don't think it's worth it, neither does my cuz, and he turned down the position this morning based on the opinions and facts from others and the job he would be doing in question. The hours were bad too, 1pm-9pm and the company would travel all over the place. Seems stupid. He could work in retail (wwhere hsi qualifications are) and make more money, and at least KNOW he's getting paid at the end of the day. Know what I mean?
