What are the legalities of getting a hotel room at 17?

Although my girlfriend and I have a very active and satisfying sex life, we hardly ever get a full night in just to ourselves with both of our parents out or without being disturbed by friends or commitments. We both think it'd be lovely just to get away from all the stress, just for one (or a few nights), and want to book into a hotel. The problem is: we're both 17 until July when we will have finished college. Can we book a hotel at this age; is it even legal? We both look around 18. I get served down both my locals, and on the phone allegedly sound about 30 something… Will we get I.D'ed? Can I pay over the phone (I only have a Visa Electron debit card)? How successful am I likely to be in this Endeavour. If I book on the phone, and turn up looking smart and respectable will there really be a problem? Neither of us drive if that matters. Thanks. Well, I've never been I.D'ed for fags since I was about 13... maybe thats just Watford for you :) ha I do remember my girl said she got a hotel with a bunch of youngens (all female) a few years back near Euston when she was about 15... So it's possible. Or maybe that was just luck. As for being minors, over here in the UK we're over the age of consent (16). So it's entirely legal for us to be having intimate relations.

1. most legitimate hotels ask for identifcation. I dont know of any hotels that don't card when booking a room, if for nothing else than verifcation purposes. its not like buying a pack of cigarettes where you might get lucky if they dont card you.
2. it seems to me that you are going to have lots of problems .. if you got caught you guys will be in trouble CZ your both minors. I would suggest to plan a trip with friends who can drive and go camping or rent a beach house from a family or a cabin, something that is not risky plus it is far away from the house and patents
3. ok..i used to travel a lot for my job..however i am onlie 21 rite now..when i was 18 traveling around i was alwayz carded by the motel and hotel managers..depending on where u are..over here where i live they card even when u pay over the phone..and for like vegas and other bigger hotels u need to be 21 to actuallie rent a room..hope this helps..and i no exactlie how u feel..
4. You will be ID'd. I would try to think of something else. Go camping or something.
5. you need to have a valid ID.....that is you need to be 18 and prove it
