Tips for a successful life?

okay, when I grow up I want to be a veterinarian/part time writer. I am in eighth grade so I think I still have some time to prepare! and that's where you guys come in. I need to know how to prepare, and when to do certain things. do you also think it would be possible for me to be a muti millionaire? if so... what should I do for that? if it helps I'd like to say that I've made 95's and above in every subject except for history... and I'm in geometry... (2 years ahead of what my grade is normally at) THANKS FOR ANY ADVICE!!! [:

  1. Well your obviously an overachiever. I don't think you have a great chance at being a multi millionaire whatsoever by being a vet and part time writer. But you seem like you'd do both well. Honestly I think both are a waste of your assumably high IQ. Well, maybe just the vet part. BUT, you should do what your heart is set on. Don;t let me or any1 else tell you otherwise. Just keep doing well in school and study philosophy and the arts to prepare yourself to be a better writer! But more importantly, have faith in yourself before you put it in other people =D
  2. If you are female think engineering degree there are schools out there that are so desperate for female enigneers that you basically get a free ride (I read about it yesterday). Get your mom to go with you to the bank and open up a savings account. This will teach you how to save. And also give something to charity or take cat food to the animal shelter. Giving teaches you the value of money. /
  3. Good thinking. Here you go. 1. Keep doing good in school. 2. Starting early in your junior year, start trying to line up scholarship money for college. There are lots of books and also your guidance counselor at school should help. The goal is to line up some serious scholarship money so you don't have to rack up major student loans to go to college. Often these scholarships require to you to write an essay. Try to adapt essays you've written in school for them, or use essays written for scholarships in school as well. 3. Actually complete and graduate college. 4. As of right now, start saving X percent of every dollar you earn or get for allowance. I'd make that percent as high as you can, say 25% or even 50% depending on your circumstances. You save first, then pay bills and live off the rest. This is called "paying yourself first" and will serve you well throughout your life. 5. In conjunction with paying yourself first is "living beneath your means." That means instead of buying a new car because you can afford to, buy a used one and keep it a long time. Rent a basic apartment instead of a fancy one, etc. The money you save is invested in investments or a business you might start. Three good books in your library are "How to Go to College for Almost Free" by Ben Kaplan, "The Millionaire Next Door" and "Automatic Millionaire." These books discuss what I've outlined above. My last tip is that history is interesting. It's learning about it in school that sucks. Pick up a good biography of some person in history you are interested in, or watch a History Channel program on some historical event. You'll see what I mean. I think schools teaching of history has killed many people's interest in history.
