Anyone know any examples of successful actors who did not start until they were older?
I have always had the dream to serve in the US Marines right out of college as an officer, but just for the normal 4 year period. However career wise I want to act. If I do the military thing I wont be free to pursue acting until I am 26-27. Is that too old to pursue acting or do I need to be younger to be successful in acting?

- Sure, there are plenty. Adam Sandler for example didn't have his first professional job until he was around 22 or 23. It maybe harder for you to build up a resume but if you have a nice physique (which Im assuming you will since you are going into the marines) and you are a good actor then you should be fine. Just remember its going to take a lot of hard work, dedication and plenty of rejections but don't let your age stop you.
- Craig T. Nelson. Before he got the role in Poltergeist, he and his family was homeless living in a van in Colorado. He'd been pursuing acting for years. Then he got his big break. >>>>
- It is never too late to act. it all depends if you have talent. There are alot of roles that need adults. most A-list actors are like at least 30 years of age. pssshhh 26-27? you should be asking "am I too young for acting?" even then you wouldn't be old enough to even play a dad role. It is all talent ,man...if you don't have talent there is no need to even try to look hot for a role. but...it might take a little bit to build up your resume. casting directors like an experienced actor.
