How can I get marriage records?

I suspect that my marriage didn't go through due to hasty filing and need to know how I can look up to see the records of it.. Thanks this may save me a divorce

1. well if you are going to the court house in the state where you are look it up it should be in eitehr of your names. if its not recorded it could be not there and that means not married but could be common law where ever you are not sure about all this though.
2. There are tons of search companies that will do it for you. Just put "marriage records usa" in the search area and see what pops up. Or, go to the state government offices where you were married and get a copy through them.
3. Go to the courthouse and look it up.
4. Call the county court house where the marriage took place. Marriage & divorce are public knowledge. They WILL give you the information you need over the phone. If it did go thru & you have no copies of it, ask for the "original" copies of it. Ask them the cost, send them a ck. along with a self addressed envelope. They will send you the copies you need. This is how I got a copy of my divorce papers which even took place out of state. So I KNOW it can be done...best to you...:)
