How can I find the marriage records of deceased family without having to search 68,000+ Ancestry records?

There has to be a more direct way to access this type of information.

  1. ancestry.com
  2. Use their names? Ancestry has an advanced search that lets you specify a person and a spouse. http://www.ancestry.com/search/ Click on "Advanced Search", in small letters at the bottom. Leave out everything - years especially - except the names. This may not be the perfect answer. What we can advise you to do depends on how many details you give.
  3. I've been working on my family's genealogy for over 30 years and I can guarantee there is no direct way to access this information online. Even ancestry has only a few of them. Some of my ancestors were Catholic and the Catholic Church had some of their records. I wrote to them to get copies. I found only one record regarding one of my Protestant ancestors. If you know what Churches they attended I suggest you start there.
  4. As much as I don't like someone getting to the correct and reasonable answer sooner that I, Ted is correct on this one.
