Wal-Mart Tire Customers?

Why do people go to walmart or even trust them servicing their tires? Im a pro-certified tire and wheel salesman/Tech we have been in the bussiness since 1975 and going strong. we are a small independent tire family owned and operated bussiness. We have a local walmart and have had for year's competion yes, However not too bad if you will.we take pride in our work as well as our customers. For instance we do all the citites and townships service vechicles, state wildlife trucks/equipment etc..the local patrol cars/ambulances as well as heavy farm equipement/lawn tires simply everything thats round and roll's,we also do all the local automotive dealer's things.. im kind of venting sorry... anyways's for instance I get a phone call "i'd like to get a price on a tire" a customer looking for a 235/75/15 basic standard midsize truck tire even some older model care use that size. I find out the style tread they're looking for mileage etc etc...ok off the top tires are government priced as far as import/export specialty high mileage etc etc TAX tarriffs crude oil $1 state tire fee several times dealer to dealer dealer to customer etc..So I price a Cooper trendsetter se 50,000 mile Premium american ade american owned grandad ran em on his caddillac for years Cooper one of the first tire and rubber manufactures ..at $106.00 per tire that includes Labor, mount, balance new valve stem(premium parts) installed on and off the car...Wheels cleaned and sealed properly car treated with respect inside and out...one solid price... also free service for the life of the tire Rotate every 5,000 miles Proper repairs as well as re balance anytime free service no hassle no gimmick.... walmart has a 40,000 mile junk chinese douglas... for 85 but then u gotta pay this n that its a gimmick what im getting at is dont go to walmart to get tires

  1. At one point in my life i worked in a Sam's Club tire department, actually I was the team leader. I always strived to make my customers happy and getting them the right tire for what they needed at the right price. Even though i was in a very high-volume location most of my customers were on the road less than 45 minutes after handing me their keys without appointments. I had 5 bays going at almost all times, open to close be we were efficient and NEVER had anyone come back with a problem. I can almost promise that I am far more knowledgable about tires than you are. I lived, eat, breathed and crapped tires for several years. I promoted local businesses by referring alignment jobs, brakes jobs, etc. to other shops. I even had local tire shops by tires from me in bulk because I could order them cheaper than their own distributors. By the way Ive been impressed with that junk Chinese Douglas on one of my own cars. Sure not as much as a top of the line Michelin or BFGoodrich but a hell of a lot better than your Cooper Crap. Ive never had a Cooper tire that was worth a crap on anything but dry pavement. I wouldnt want my loved ones on Coopers in rain, snow, or mud. What you do with your family is your business though.. Quit tooting your own horn dude. Some Wal-marts really suck, but some whiny-baby-pissy-pants like you sucks even more. Look- business is simple. Make people happy, offer a great prices, and be in the right location and market your product/services effectively and you will steal away your local Wal-marts customers. If you dont do those things- you will ultimately lose to the big box store.
  2. well... i didnt bother reading all that other than the first couple of lines, and i agree with what i seen, wal-mart + vehicle serive = oh shit hell no. i much rather trust a used car tire service than wal mart or any other chain stores like it. they know absolute nothing about cars, you may find 1 out of 50 who knows, but its rare. i even tease them when it comes to cars, "will my honda hook up pretty good with these tires?" yeah man i got them on my civic and no matter what rpm i leave i can hook, keep in mind these tires are all seasoned.. they know rice pretty well but cars, nope. nada thing.
