how to find free marriage records online?

I need to find marriage records online for my boyfriend to make sure he is not currently married. (I am not Van B. I am his lil' sister.)

1. What? You got a boyfriend, and you think he might be married, then there is probably a good reason, other than your whacko. Does he spend the night with you? Do you go over to his place? Do you even know where he lives? I'm guessing you already know the answer, you just don't want to know, because it feels too good.
2. Marriage & divorce records are public knowledge. Call the county court house where he lives & ask them if they have a marriage certificate on him. If they do, ask them if they also have divorce papers on him & if so is it final. First see if he's married. If he's not, then you're OK. If he is divorced, you could ask for a copy of the "raised seal" divorce paperwork. They'll tell you the cost, send a ck. & a self addressed envelope & get the paperwork...good luck to you...:)
3. Go to your state or county website. You can access public marriage records there. And its free!
4. You can't. I suggest that if you want to know if your boyfriend is married that you ask him.
