Is it lawful to make my dentist charge my deadbeat father for my dental issues?

My father is a wife beater and he stopped taking care of his children when they are around 13 because I guess the tax money is not that high when you get older for children and he does not want to pay for high school or college fees. My mother takes care of all of us she pays all the bills, feed us, etc my father only pays the apartment bill because he lives with us. I hate my father he always tries to convince my mother to stop taking care of us and he gets mad every time she cooks for us because she stopped cooking for him because he stopped paying my mother to buy groceries about 5 years ago. which explains why we have separate fridges. Before my dad met my mom he had bad credit and he was not as successful as he is today and when he married my mother they shared a bank account but then about five years ago he went to the bank and took her name off the account which i think is illegal. i am so sick of my family being treated like animals. I cracked my tooth and i got a root canal and now it cracked again because medi-cal has supposedly not approved my crown yet. i used to go to a private dentist which my dad used to pay for all my dental fees. The dentist knows my father so he will just put the expenses on his bill but of course he does not know he stopped taking care of me though. I'm 17 by the way and i want to get all my dental issues taken care of before i turn 18 and go to college so i won't have too many expenses to worry about. I'm just worried because I don't know if its illegal to have the dentist charge my father and i don't want him to hurt my mother. what should I do? Also can you back up your reason with legal terms thanks. Randy B I do live with him but I don' talk to him neither of us do! I live in California.

  1. I say SUE your dad for everything he has. Clean out the Bank. I say do it
  2. The dentist cannot just up and charge your father for your dental care, considering you don't live with him. If he goes and pays it then fine but if he refuses then you and your mom will be on the hook for it and may even have to try to sue him to get him to pay IF he is required to.
  3. I believe you can sue your father for unpaid child support. It depends on where you live. You cannot make your dentist do anything, however.
