Success Happy

Have you ever known of a successful relationship between an Arab and an Israeli?

Not one of those marriages where the Jew converts to Islam, rather a marriage on Israeli Jewish terms. Where the Arab is "liberal" or "ideologically reformed". *Not necessarily a marriage @Dick, you brainless muzzie troll, you ought to clobbered unconscious and sewn back into your mother's womb.

  1. These marriages usually don't last very long.
  2. yah you but than again you're not an Arab
  3. I know dozens of such cases, and moreover: i know couples where Muslims remained Muslims - and Jews remained Jews. And you know, they live quite well.
  4. Sampson and Delila? Oh wait..
  5. Word of mouth I have. It's not been easy when it's Muslim & Jew, but there are definitely places in Israel where it can be done successfully. (Arab & Jew is not the same issue since so many Jews are Arab there, i.e. from Arab countries, where they lived for centuries. "Looking" Arab wouldn't be an issue since many, many Israeli Jews are indistinguishable by looks from any Israeli Arab.) I'm thinking of the village between Jerusalem & Tel Aviv that's a mix of Arabs & Jews with intent to build bridges. Also Haifa itself is known as a city where both live side by side successfully in general, so a marriage should work there too. I wouldn't move into Al-Fum-fm (spelling?) in the central area - they've had some extremists stoning Jewish Israeli cars. Nor would I move into any old Jewish neighborhood in Jerusalem without checking out how it will be (though at least it won't be deadly.) Once you mix less religious on both parties it gets easier of course too. I'm trying to think of resources to ask...? In general it's not being Arab or Muslim vs. Jew that's the issue, but attitude & life style, & get this - political views :). Having known you slightly over internet, I think you'd have a pretty easy time of it. You're not bringing the baggage that would lead to the automatic issues. Maybe try to find some blogs by Israelis & see what they think? I'll star for my contacts & see if anyone's had more direct experiences. ============= Joe Please read my wording more carefully next time before commenting on it. (edited out section.) Joe - Thanks for the private edit. Israel only has religious marriages is irrelevant, since folks go on vacation (used to be to Cyress) & get married there, including secular people who don't meet or want to meet any of the various religions' marriage requirements.
  6. I cant tell them apart son. Apart from the nose thing they have the same skin color, language, dress code and attitude. Maybe the Arabs have whiter skin, but there aint a big difference, for sure. Steel Style
  7. if you are talking friendships - then yes. i have several arab good friends. if you are talking love - then i know there are some, but i don't know a couple like that in person.
  8. If you are talking friendship, o yes, I know several (colleagues and friends). Which does not mean they do not end up in furious debates sometimes - it really is a love-hate thing.
  9. Yeah, it's called, the country of Israel. Considering many Arabs in Israel vote, are educated, are given freedoms not allowed in other Middle Eastern countries, and are quite patriotic.
  10. as to relationships... there are working relationships, namely, people who work in the same workplace and it sort of works ok until religion and politics get into the picture. there are jewish girls who've dated arab guys. but they can't marry if they are of different religions because there are only religious marriages in israel. a d so the jewish girls have to convert to islam, because if the arab guy converts to judaism (there have been a few), they risk being killed by their family for being an infidel. arab girls won't date jewish guys because their families will kill them. edit sorry cher. that comment should have been on private
  11. My friend is an Israeli and culturally Jewish, but is atheist. He has been seeing a girl who's originally from Saudi Arabia and moved here for school since we all met in college, they've lived together since 05, and they're currently engaged. Her parents no longer talk to her because she's kind of a punk rocker now and, well, engaged to an Israeli... his family thinks she's cool.
  12. Yes the parents of Tiny Tim, He was of Ashkenazic Jewish and Non Jewish Arab descent
