How can I balance a rigorous academic program, sports, clubs and a social life?
I'm a junior in HS, and I am in a rigorous academic program and all my classes are higher/advanced level. I try to work hard and my GPA is 3.7. In addition, I play two sports (year round). I am an active member in a few clubs at school. Now the problem is that I do not have much of a social life. I am considered well liked with my peers, but I do not typically hang out with friends much outside of school (maybe once every 2 weeks or so). I am wondering how some people balance all these together, while also getting a sufficient amount of sleep :) Thank you :-)

- Hanging out doesn't necessarily mean going out and actually doing an activity. Hanging out can be sitting around at home doing your homework and watching TV with your friends. So if your close enough with someone just invite them over to make everyday things more interesting. This will let you do all of your everyday things but also have a social life. Also determine what is useless and what you REALLY need/want to do. Don't just sit around doing nothing, go finish your homework off quickly so you can do activities you actually want to do. And the most socially active people I know have transport. Talk to your parents about picking/dropping you off in last minute plans, see if they're okay with it. Maybe even get a bus pass or make friends who live in walking distance. If you can go over to see friends believe me, you will have a social life. And personally, I find no point in sleeping late in the weekends. If you sleep at a decent time then wake up earlyish (before you can actually do anything) finish all of your work off: you'll have an entire weekend to do whatever. In the weekends you can do activites with friends like going out to the mall or to a party.
- I am the same with you and manage to do it by structuring like having a routine in the morning etc you will be suprised how long you can take checking your status on facebook or getting a snack
