Is it horrible to forget to wish a close friend happy birthday on facebook?

I don't live near her anymore.. and I just saw her profile and am so pissed I forgot about her birthday! I cant say anything about it now because its 9 days late.. I feel horrible cause shes a good friend of mind and she always wishes happy birthday for me. I usually dont forget this stuff.. I remembered before her birthday but when they day came I either wasnt on facebook or or forgot or UGHHHH.. :/

2. Why do you have to wish her a happy birthday on Facebook? Don't sweat it, it really isn't that big a deal. If you guys are close, she won't mind that it slipped your mind. Maybe just write something on her wall like: Hey, I've been so busy lately but didn't want you to think I forgot about you....HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!...sorry I'm so late.
