How do I become an actuary?

I graduated with bachelor's in accounting in 2005. I did one more semester of various mathematics, economics, and statistics in a graduate program, and decided to hold off until I knew what I wanted to do. I'm currently an accountant at a Fortune 500 company, and I'm just finding that this isn't what I'm looking for. I'd like to explore the possibility of becoming an actuary. Can anyone tell me what I would be looking at on a day to day basis? How do I go about becoming an actuary? How is the work-life balance? Any information is appreciated. Oh, and I took one Calculus for business and social science course. Would you recommend more calculus/probability?

  1. You have to pass in the examination conducted by the Atuary Association / Institute. For details you may search through google or write to Institute of Chartered Accountants.
