- Top 10 traits of a sucessful office administrator: 1. They have remarkable time management skills and do not hesitate to say no to someone whenever it conflicts with their goals. 2. They do start work 30 minutes earlier than the rest of the staff but also leave the office no later than 20 minutes after end of workday. To them, staying way after work hours means they are not productive enough and they need more time to do what other people can do in less time. 3. They do NOT think about work on weekends nor after work hours. They do that on Sunday evening usually between 18:00 and 18:30 while they are planning for their week. 4. Most looked forward is everyday because it doesn't matter to them! 5. Give their best everyday, every minute during work hours, they are good at giving work hours what they have and eventhough they work hard at their jobs, they work harder at their lives. 6. They are pretty smart and flexible and you can have any discussion about anything and feel they improvise and have interesting opinions about almost any topics. 7. They check their emails only between 11:30 and noon and 16:30-17:00 during this time they pick up phonecalls. lunchtime and workday end hours are the best times to place phonecalls because people are hungry or willing to go home... they will give you straight answers right away since they do not want to sacrifice their lunch hour or make it through the traffic jams. 8. They are good at screening people and filtering the ones that really needs attention, as for the rest of phonecalls, they delegate it to someone who was previously trained by this director to troubleshoot. 9. Work is everything for them at the office, outside the office their family, hobbies etc. 10. They are not necessarily computer literate since people under them are in charge of those issues, one thing they are good is halfing interpersonal skills. I hope these help. mercuryglb.com
