How much water should 18 year old female drink a day?

I'm actually under the average weight for a woman my height and weight but I'm not skinny. Junk food is the love of my life but I try to balance my diet as much as I can. I eat the junk but make sure I get my exercise and eat fruits/veggies. I also love soda,I used to not touch it but I've become "addicted" to it recently. I still drink juice(cranberry,apple,fruit punch,etc) but I have to have at least 40oz of soda a day(two 20oz bottles). Sometimes I force myself to drink water in place of the juice and soda but not often. I might drink 10oz of water a day on an average day. To help myself drink more water I bought a reusable bottle that holds 20oz. Given that I most likely will still drink the soda like I already am,how much water should I drink? I don't want to make myself sick from drinking too much water but I'm kind of worried about my body since I don't ever have a thirst for just water.

  1. Any adult should be drinking 8 glasses of water a day, or 64 ounces. Juice is almost just as bad for you as soda. It contains pretty much the same amount of sugar. The only difference is it doesn't contain carbonation, which destroys your teeth, and doesn't have caffeine like dark soda. If you don't like the taste of water, you can easily buy something like Crystal Light which gives it a fruit flavor, but does not contain any calories or sugar in most cases.
