How to start a successful Affiliate Internet marketing business?

I want to start my own internet marketing business, and I want to Affiliate. What tips can you guys give me to start and to be successful at it?

1. Being a successful affiliate is very difficult since almost all markets (verticals) have their well-established affiliates who started during the 'boom' phase of the internet. This is not to say though that it is not possible; depending on which vertical you decide to choose, you will need to develop a website around generic terms a customer may use when looking to purchase a product online. Keyword density, relevancy and specifically targetted pages are key to drive potential customer to your site.
