What policy is better to balance our national budget on?

1. Is it better to balance our budget by cutting programs that help the working poor, sick, and elderly, like Social Security (which has never added to our national debt), Medicare, and Medicaid, which helps the elderly who have worked all their lives afford health care. 2. Is it better to balance our budget by allowing very profitable corporations who are sitting on trillion of dollars to pay a little more in taxes, and by allowing the rich, who have seen their wealth increase by disproportionate volumes, pay a few percentage points more? Is it better to balance our budget by asking the poor and middle class to sacrifice even more than they already are, or to ask the rich and profitable corporations and owners to pay a little more for all the enormous profits they have been receiving?

1. Until spending is under control, there is no balancing the budget. Higher revenues simply lead to higher spending.
2. You can't balance the budget by giving the government more money because there is no amount of revenue that they can't overspend. It's like trying to cure a crackhead by giving them more crack.
3. You already know which way the answers will fall. Libs will pick 2 and cons will pick 1. The truth is that it is unlikely that our budget will ever be "balanced". That would probably require a 100% tax on everybody. What needs to be done is both spending cuts and revenue increases. I'd suggest that Eric Cantor be told the next time he demands set asides to cover disaster relief that we'll be taking it out of oil company subsidies and corporate tax breaks. Think he'll bite?
4. One step is to get rid of "crony capitalism" and reinstate free market capitalism. The bankers lobbied our representatives to pass favorable regulations for the financial services industry, not the American people. These same regulations allowed the bankers to run wild and sell toxic debt to innocent investers.
5. the government with more policy choices than the vatican has sisters,should follow,the constitution,based on p r i n c i p l es,that have fed clothed more 'middle cass families-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-......(where I HEARED THAT BAFORE??) than government or any country in history what the country needs are 50,000 walmarts,10,000 AMERICAN workers hired to assemble tvs,stereos,indian combination clay veggy (meat,if you want to cook roast beast) cookers and heaters for campouts,cooking in tents,5000 jobs @ motorola ,foe AMERICAN LAID OFF WORKERS,,5,000 jobbies at AT& Mobile,(holder you ditz,approve the godam merger) factories in dee troit cit eye to re tool for makin hummers,(heated by adequately ventilated indian clay stoves,if the customers want them),oil jobs,coal diggin,gas extraction @ exxon,or clark,or mobil petroleum in alaska,the gulf,the california coast,montana,tennessee,florida,,,,illinois the rich paid 50 -60- % of last years taxes,,if they are following IRS rules & regs,(and with 16,000 new hires @ IRS,WHY IN GODS NAME WOULDN'THEY??),RULES SET BY THE GOVERNMENT why call them exploiters??? the guy at the head of this govt has ,obama,with his party,spent more in less time,towards no good purpose towards party base en$richment,than any government in history,,,obama,the great poverty creator just as indians dumped every bit of salt mined,otherwise going to support the british,we need to dump this exploitative government,peacefully,by the ballot,as bapu taught,right????
