There should have some kind of regulations set to balance out our supply and demand for oil from the get-go! Didn't we know from the beginning that there was a limited supply of oil? If so, why the hell would we allow ourselves to become such an oil dependant world? This isn't just a scare folks, our oil supply will last us 40 years at most! If that's not bad enough, as the supply continues to shrink we will experience total world chaos. Everything and body will be effected! Searching for more oil is a joke and only prolongs the problem. 5. It's amazing how people pull to the pumps in their gas guzzlers and complain about gas prices. They don't realize, they are accounting for the surge in prices. The government will have to figure out some other solution to failing oil supply and the rise in cost of alternative fuels.
6. Panicking or causing panic helps no one. But sitting around doing nothing is worse. A lot can happen in 40 years and I think we'll be okay. Thousands of people are working on better and more effective alternative energy solutions from solar, wind, geothermal, capturing methane from garbage dumps, even small-scale hydroelectric which are all free and sustainable. If we diversify our sources of electricity then fossil fuels are unnecessary. The technologies are available so no one's going to freeze or starve.

8. 100 years ago, no one had a car. The horses will come back. It will be a good thing because we'll have to change, so don't worry.
