- IT AINT
- don't know what are u talking about!?Is it the song?
- Because people equate happiness with how much "stuff" you have...money, house, cars, clothes, prestige, etc.
- For most people in the United States; happiness = possessions. For others; possessions = greed. It is all a matter of perspective.
- It's not because if you make tons of $$$, you're going to worry how to spend it, save it, and invest it. You can't be happy doing that. Being happy is giving of yourself, to others reasonably and accepting things as they come.
- Example: I think having $100,000 dollars in cash will make me happy. Tomorrow I gamble and I get my $100,000 dollars. I am happy. I go shopping and buy clothes. I buy a car..I am happy. A week later..I feel that I need more things thus more money. I go back to the casino and gamble $10,000 dollars. I win more money. Again the same situation occurs...more greed is coming in me...I gamble and gamble and I am out of control. You think having stuff will lead to happiness...that is wrong. The process of chasing it is satisfying..once you get it..its not satisfying anymore!
- it's not. greed is greed, is not equivalent to happy. happy is a way you chose to be, are taught to be. when I am not happy, best thing I can do is count my blessings and enjoy what I have. greed makes me anxious. having money just makes me not so anxious that I will be able to not live like a beggar, which I hate living like when I do, which is rare. am happy when I have my own space, food, gas in the car to go somewhere, enough money to eat away from home when I need to. it would be nice to be able to shop for new clothes sometimes. might make me happy for a little while. love makes me happy, glad I have people I love who love me.
- Greed is not equivalent to the pursuit of happiness. It is the exact opposite.
- Greed is only equivalent if you persue happiness at the expense of other people| But if you persue happiness by facilitating the happiness of others, that is not greed, but pure goodness| Only then, do you find true happiness| But if you try to gain by ripping others off (it doesn't matter if it is legal or not), you go down into the grave in blood| ---
- Greed, envy, and avarice are negative and unpleasant. How can feeling this way possibly make anyone happy?? PS: happiness is a state of being and an entirely subjective experience. One can only pursue goals.
- Some people think that money will make them happy in spite of all evidence to the contrary. And why do you assume "happiness" is what everyone is looking for? I don't want to just be happy. I have much deeper needs than that now that I am older. Good Luck!!
- Depends if your pursuit of happiness is all about amassing property, making money and being selfish. Some people pursue and gain happiness by helping others.
- In no way, shape, or form is greed equivalent to the pursuit of hapiness. Greed is a way for people to keep on acquiring new things, and is not limited to physical things like cars and houses. When I think of greed, I also think of people who do anything to get ahead of people, including status, power, recognition, etc. These things are the pursuit to put oneself above others, which conversely puts others below them. This is wrong, and does not end up in true happiness. Most of the time when greedy people get what they want, they have a deep hole in their hearts, and feel very lonely and empty. This is not happiness. Hapiness is when someone feels fulfilled by what they do, who they are around, and for sure, have the necessities of life. They can for sure own possessions, but if the possessions own them, they are not happy. Ususally happiness is reflected when someone has helped someone, or gives love equally as they recieve it. It is in every way the opposite of greed. I hope all this made sense, and hope it gives a little difference of views and opinions that you are looking for!
