1. Friendship. That's the key. No matter what else you have going for you, if the two of you aren't really good friends, the relationship will be short lived. That's why so many couples that have been together for years fall apart. They still love each other. They may even still have a great sex life. But they have stopped being friends, and so they fight too much over little things that a friend would normally let slide.
