what kind of person does it take to be a successful and good Occupational therapist?

in your opinion what traits or type of personality should a person have to be successful in OT? besides the obvious... I'd like to hear from OTs themselves, from their own experiences. .....or from anyone who works with an OT :)

  1. smart and good with people
  2. I am a teacher and have worked with several OT personal. Our current OT seems to be the best that we have had. She is kind, understanding, proactive, and punctual. It is important that if you work in schools, that you are willing to be flexible with the teachers. Hope this helped a little..
  3. Patience. Strong in science. Strong stomach. Strong back. Be a "people person", i.e., friendly, warm, a good listener, a positive attitude, be willing to take on responsibility, and share your knowledge.. Be a team player.
